The officials of the Guyana Police Force have found Narcotics worth more than 18M in value at the Regional Division 4 B. The police have further also arrested two suspects in connection with the said crime. The police officials made this significant discovery on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The police shared that they were part of an intelligence-led operation. 

The Commander of the Regional Division 4 B, Senior Superintendent Singh led a party of policemen into this significant intelligence-led operation. The operation took place at the Republic Park EBD During the search operation led by  Senior Superintendent Singh, the Guyana Police Force found a large quantity of narcotics at the scene of crime. They have also taken two male suspects into custody. Meanwhile, further investigations and placing charges remains pending thus far.

The Guyana police at Regional Division 4 B searched the storage room of the Republic Park EBD. The two suspects, who the police officers arrested following the search were also present at the scene. Meanwhile, the police officials found four 45-gallon barrels during their operation.  These barrels contained several bulky plastic bags wrapped with transparent scotch tape. The police officials examined these packed parcels and found them to contain a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems. 

The officials suspect that these  leaves, seeds, and stems were cannabis. The men were told of the suspicion, cautioned, and they remained silent and were both arrested. 

Police also saw a vehicle PVV 810 which was parked on the bridge in front of the said property. Following the thorough search of the property,the police also searched the vehicle. This round of search also resulted in the discovery of a bulky plastic bag that contained a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis. 

The Guyana police officials took both the men to the Diamond Police Station. The narcotics that the police found in the motorcar were weighed in the police station. These amounted to two thousand nine hundred grams (2,900). Meanwhile the narcotics found in the storage room amounted to forty-eight thousand seven hundred and fifty grams (48,750). The total street value of the narcotic is $18.7M.

Both men remain in custody pending charges.
