FIFA has suspended two more football officials in Haiti on Thursday to widen its investigation into the alleged systematic sexual abuse of the young women football players.

Judges of the Ethics committee of FIFA first extended a 90-day provisional ban of Yves Jean-Bart, the longtime Haiti football federation president, by 90 more days while he is being investigated for allegedly abusing the national team players of Haiti.

FIFA said that the ethics investigators have now expanded the scope of their investigations by opening formal proceedings against a man and a woman.

They are the supervisor of the girls at the national training centre, Nela Joseph, and the technical director of the federation, Wilner Etienne.

Both of them were suspended for 90 days.

Further, preliminary investigation proceedings are currently being carried out that include the analysis of potential offences committed by other football officials in Haiti, FIFA said.

Jean-Bart, who has led Haitian football for 20 years, has denied the allegations that were published by British newspaper The Guardian in April.
