An earthquake occurred at around 11.55 am on Tuesday with a magnitude of 4.5 on the Richter scale.
The University of the West Indies’ Seismic Research Centre (UWI, SRC) has confirmed that the epicentre of the earthquake took place at a depth of about 10 km below the ground, at latitude 11.98N and 60.84W longitude.
The earthquake occurred 89 km north of Scarborough, Trinidad and Tobago, 138 km south-southeast of Kingstown of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and 101 km east from St George’s of Grenada.
Not many people have reported that they felt the quake, based on comments on the UWI, SRC’s Facebook post.
There were two earthquakes earlier this month, each of magnitude 4.9 which struck on May 4 and May 9.
