Cuba is looking forward to brighter days with tourists as it is starting to ease travel restrictions after lockdown of seven months.
The tourism industry in Cuba is a thriving business, and Cuba is now planning to restart tourism.
Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero announced last week that 13 provinces in Cuba are being permitted to reopen for tourism. Cuba had shut down its borders on April 2 this year.
Although some provinces are reopening, the capital of Havana is not a part of this list of 13 provinces. So, the airport in Havana would stay closed.
According to the Prime Minister, people with symptoms of COVID-19 would not be required to go into isolation facilities and could isolate themselves within their home.
Cuba’s famous beaches, restaurants, bars, and hotels which stayed shut until now are looking to reopen and have tourists.
Cuba has also been facing challenges related to the economy.
Also, the health issue is grave at the moment; the economy is also suffering due to the pandemic.
Thus, as other countries are reopening for tourism, Cuba is following the same path.
Cuba has had 6000 confirmed cases and 123 deaths due to COVID-19 so far.
