Barbados has recorded a new case of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
The latest COVID-19 positive case is that of a 55-year-old Barbadian man who has been identified by the Ministry of Health and Wellness by contact tracing.
The test result for this man was the only positive test out of the total 132 tests which were carried out on Friday by the Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory.
Also, two people had been released from isolation yesterday.
The addition of the new case has brought the number of confirmed cases of the respiratory illness to 86, which includes 44 women and 42 men.
Sixty-seven people in Barbados have already recovered from the disease, seven persons have died, and 12 persons remain in isolation.
The public health laboratory has completed a total of 3,783 tests for the virus.
