During the cabinet meeting, the government of Dominica announced to reopen the restaurants, gyms, bars, gaming establishments. The government also urged the citizens to follow the strict COVID-19 protocols that would help to mitigate the widespread of Covid-19 on the island.
On September 7, 2021, during a meeting of Cabinet held on Tuesday, the Cabinet approved more amendments to the Environmental Health Services (COVID-19) Regulations S.R. & O 26 of 2021. The new regulation would come into effect from September 8, 2021 Wednesday.
The Chief Medical Officer was supposed to publish that the citizens would follow the strict safety protocols that included physical distancing, washing the hands, wearing the mask and the rest safety measures.
After the cabinet meeting, the government had announced that the restaurants would remain open for dining those were ordered to be close a few days back. The gyms, gaming establishments have also been allowed to reopen so that they can run their business and the citizens could maintain good physical strength during this time of the pandemic.
The government, at last, stated that the bars have only been permitted to reopen just for the pick-up, and there is no allowance for loud music, and social gathering is strictly prohibited in these places. The government has suspended alcohol consumption in these social places, till then, the orders would remain in effect. Along with this, all nightclubs have been ordered to stay close.
The protocols of the businesses would be monitored by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment. All the protocols related to this would be forwarded for the information of businesses and the public.
The government of Dominica had urged its citizens to adhere to the regulations and protocols that have been made for their safety during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. The government has made these protocols to slow down the spreading of the Novel Coronavirus on the island. The island citizens are directed to vaccinate themselves and their children as it is the only way to fight against the COVID-19 virus.
