The We Village Dat initiative, a national initiative which takes to the grassroots and honors the outstanding community stalwarts reached the Ottleys Lodge area. The initiative , started by the department of creative economy, has been highly appreciated by the communities across the island.
Under the most recent edition of the event, Several outstanding residents of the Ottley’s-Lodge area were honoured. The honoring ceremony was hosted on March 12, 2026 where people of all ages across the community were appreciated for their invaluable contributions to community development.
The special ceremony for the appreciation of these persons was hosted under the Department of Creative Economy’s We Village Dat community outreach programme. The event has already honored deserving persons from across the island.
Previously, the community outreach honored the people from the St Peter’s Community, which is represented by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew. Now, the community outreach initiative is being done in C-4.
The initiative is designed to empower and strengthen communities through education, entertainment, and public recognition. The main aim of this work is to celebrate the people who make meaningful impacts in their local areas.
The people who were honored during the ceremony had been contributing to the growth and development of the community for several years.
This year’s Ottley’s-Lodge honourees included:
𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, who was honored for her contributions in the area of Community Development
𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐝 was appreciated for his contributions to Construction
𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞 for her contribution to Sports.
In addition, two young creatives were also recognised for their excellence. They are 𝐊𝐲𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧 in the area of Music and 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐇𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 in Sports.
The area’s 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐒𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 was presented to 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬.
Minister of the Creative Economy, the Samal Duggins, who is the Parliamentary Representative for Constituency 4, was present to personally congratulate the awardees and present the honours.
