Three medical practitioners from St Kitts and Nevis had the opportunity to visit the Embassy of Taiwan. The medical practitioners were visiting the East Asian Country under the Program to Assist Taiwan’s Diplomatic Allies in Medical Capacity Building.
The programme was organized by Taiwan ICDF.
The medical practitioners who were part of this programme included a nurse Nurse Dhaima Golding who serves as the Assistant Matron at Alexandra Hospital in Nevis. The team also includes Dr. Dounice Hughes, who serves as the Medical Doctor at Pogson Medical Centre. The final member of the group was Tianne Godfrey, who works as the Radiologist at the Joseph Nathaniel France General Hospital. All the medical staff members stopped by the Embassy for a brief interaction with Ambassador Donya L. Francis and Diplomat/Second Secretary Rolhensha Henry.
Nurse Golding will spend one month in Taiwan as a part of the programme that she is a participant for. Meanwhile Dr. Hughes and Miss Godfrey will each undergo three months of training, at two different hospitals in the country.
The Embassy of St Kitts and Nevis has extended their best wishes to the participants from St Kitts and Nevis. The participants will be training during their stay and they will also continue to enhance their knowledge and skills.
These projects are set to contribute to their personal development and the advancement of healthcare in St. Kitts and Nevis.
The Embassy also received a courtesy visit from Dr. Eric Chu, who serves as the Dean of International Affairs, introduced two English-taught Master’s programs along with the scholarship opportunities which were available. The scholarship covers a full two-year period, including tuition, accommodation, and a monthly stipend of NTD 6,000. Prospective students may apply to the Master’s Programme in Business Administration and Information Technology Innovation and Application (BAITA), or the International Master Degree Program in Intelligent Semiconductor and Green Technology.
