During the national budget 2026 address the Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew has announced lifetime health insurance coverage for the public sector employees. The officials have shared that the coverage for lifetime health insurance is effective starting December 1, 2025.
The officials have shared that the initiative was a part of the St Kitts and Nevis government mandate of investigating the people of the island. The officials have shared that the members of the community will be given the safety to make sure that they can access healthcare without having to worry about affordability.
The Prime Minister also confirmed that the public sector employees are now covered by a lifetime health insurance with a coverage of EC $1 Million. The officials have shared that the insurance cover has been increased from the previous coverage of EC$750 Million.
