New Communication System Installed at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport

A New Voice Communication Control System was installed at the Control Tower of the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport by St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority. The information was shared by the Airport authority on their social media.

The new installation reflects advancement and development in the airport. It also helps in managing air traffic communication and operational capability in the St. Kitts. The installation of the Voice Communication Control System was completed on Tuesday 7 April, 2026.

The Aeronav Technician Andre Dion was the officer responsible for the installation of the system in the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport at St. Kitts. The New Voice Communication Control System has an upgraded communication functionality which is designed to support clear, more efficient coordination between aircraft movements and air traffic control.

Don Grant, the Airport Manager, mentioned that the installation of the system in the airport was important as it was beneficial for both the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority and Air Traffic Control Department. The installation of the system also reflects the authority’s commitment to provide high operational standards to airport staff and support the airspace safe management.

Nigel Webbe the Maintenance Manager of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority has appreciated the initiative of upgrading the various systems within the airport. He believes the upgrades which are being made have led to the system being smarter and it will enhance the performances and reliability of tower operations.

Additionally, during the installation of the system officials such as Chief Operations  Calvin Duggins, Kurt Louard Senior Air Traffic Controller, and Charlie Gumbs ECCAA Technician were present to witness the implementation of the new system in the airport.

Moreover, the installation of a new Voice Communication Control System is part of the vision of  St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority of modernizing the infrastructure and strengthening operational efficiency in aviation facilities across the twin islands.
