Antigua and Barbuda based regional Airline LIAT Air has launched a new flight from Antigua to Guadeloupe, marking another milestone in Caribbean Connectivity. The inaugural flight of this route landed in Guadeloupe on April 8, 2026. With this flight, LIAT has added another destination to the Airline’s operations.
The inaugural LIAT Air Flight completed the journey between Antigua and Guadeloupe between in 20 Minutes. The flight departed from the VC Bird International Airport in Antigua at around 8 in the morning on Friday. The inaugural flight was carrying a delegation of high level officers from the Airlines and the tourism stakeholders from the government of Antigua and Barbuda.
The delegation included LIAT Air Chief Executive Officer Hafsah Abdulsalam, Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism Michael Freeland, Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Colin James, Director of Tourism for Caribbean and Latin America Charmaine Spencer, United Kingdom High Commissioner John Hamilton, members of the media and others.
When the flight arrived in Guadeloupe, the tourism stakeholders of the country welcomed the flight and the delegation with a traditional water salute. This welcome was also followed by a ribbon-cutting ceremony which took place at the Pointe-à-Pitre International Airport. After the welcome ceremony, the tourism stakeholders organised a brief cultural programme.
The beginning of the Antigua-Guadeloupe flight signifies strengthened connectivity within the Caribbean region. LIAT Air will operate twice weekly flights between Antigua and Guadeloupe moving forward.
With the regular flights people will able to move more freely between the two nations. The people across the Caribbean region have been delighted with this development in aviation connectivity. They are delighted to see flights connecting Antigua to Guadeloupe.
