Inspector Jerry Watt, Head of the White Collar Crime Unit of the Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force represented St. Kitts and Nevis at the International Forum on Police Cooperation (IFPC) 2026: Combating Transnational Crime. The opening ceremony of the forum was held on Tuesday in Taipei, Taiwan.
The forum was held over three days, from 22 to 24 June 2026. The first day was dedicated to pre-event registration, delegate arrivals and bilateral briefings. The second day marked the official opening of the forum with an opening ceremony, while the final day concluded with panel discussions and closing addresses.
According to reports, Doyna L. Francis, Ambassador of St. Kitts and Nevis in (Republic of China) Taiwan was in attendance at the event. Francis further mentioned that the participation of the twin island federation in the forum reflects their commitment of strengthening national security and international cooperation with other participating nations.
He further mentioned that the representatives of St Kitts and Nevis participated in a discussion on how to strengthen the judicial system including protecting public rights and management of order in the region.
Additionally, Ambassador Francis said, “This year’s forum brings together senior law enforcement leaders and representatives and exchange views on how to strengthen international cooperation on a range of critical security challenges.” The Embassy of St. Kitts and Nevis to Taiwan also shared the glimpses of the forum online.
211 representatives from more than 40 countries from global law enforcement agencies participated in International Forum on Police Cooperation (IFPC) 2026: Combating Transnational Crime. The theme of the forum was “Combating Transnational Crime” and discussions centered on major crime topics including telecommunications and communication fraud, human trafficking, illegal financial cash flows and money laundering, cybercrime and drug offences.
Notably, the forum is a yearly event organized by the National Police agency (NPA) held at Taipei, Taiwan. It is a high-level, international law enforcement summit focusing on bridging the gaps between countries that do not have formal diplomatic ties.
