St Kitts and Nevis is preparing to host the St Kitts Music Festival starting June 25 to June 27, 2026. The event has been one of the most anticipated music events in the Craibbean, especially during the off season of the country.
To create more interest in the event, the Department of Industry and Commerce has entered into a collaboration with St Kitts Music Festival. They are hosting the Its all about sauce cook off on Friday. The event, being hosted on the second day of the music festival will give the attendants another unique event to look forward to during the day.
The cook off event will also give the people an opportunity to experience the culinary offerings of the island before the music steals the show in the evening.
The it’s All About the Sauce Chef Cook-Off will run from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Central Street, Basseterre, St. Kitts.
The event will give a chance to the chefs across the federation to come and showcase their talent. The chefs from across the twin islands will compete in the event using only locally sourced sauces and ingredients.
The aim of this event is to highlight the supply capacity of the federation and its local agro processors. The ministry has announced that the initiative aligns with the Federation’s Sustainable Island State Agenda by promoting local value-added production, encouraging innovation within the agro-processing sector and strengthening direct linkages between the culinary, manufacturing, agriculture and tourism sectors.
Through the cook-off, the chefs across the island can:
- Showcase the creativity and skills of local chefs
- Promote the use of locally produced and agro-processed goods
- Strengthen linkages between the agricultural, manufacturing, and tourism sectors
- Engage the public in a vibrant and interactive culinary experience
