Caribbean Week of Agriculture (CWA) is returning for its 20th eidition wiith the launch event scheduled for May 21. The Caribbean Week of Agriculture is being hosted in Jamaica for its 20th edition. The launch event will be hosted in the hybrid method and based in jamaica. 

The CWA is the premier agriculture event for the whole region and serves as a platform for several events. The week long celebration will consist of several seminars statutory meetings of regional agriculture organisations; and other important meetings of regional stakeholders. 

The Council for Trade and Economic Development (COTED) will also convene for a special meeting. Additionally, the event will witness several technical showcases and a single trade show.

The main event will be organised for a week starting on 27 September – 2 October. The theme for the 20th Caribbean Week of Agriculture will be: ‘The New FACE of Caribbean Food Systems’. FACE represents Food Security, Agri-Business, Climate-Smart Technologies, and Export Expansion.

The stakeholders of the sector including the farmers, youngsters, policymakeers, innovators and businessmen will come together. They will hold discussions on the  various aspects of the sector during the course of the week.

The lauch event, which is being organised on Thursday, May 21, 2026 will also be attended by a number of stakeholders from the sector. The virtual event will start at 1:00 PM in Kingston Jamaica, at 2:00 PM in Georgetown, Guyana, at 12:00 PM in Belmopan, Belize and finally at 3;00 PM at Paramaribo, Suriname. 

In person, the event will be hosted at the summit in Kingston, Jamaica. At the same time,  the event will covered virtually  by the official social media pages of the CARICOM. 

The Jamaican Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining, Floyd Green. Guyana’s Minister Zulfikar Mustapha, Minister of Agriculture and Chair of the Special Ministerial Task Force on Food Security and Food Production and  Dr. Carla Barnett, CARICOM Secretary-General will be among the featured speakers at the official launch ceremony.
