The Caribbean Week of Agriculture opened in St Kitts on September 29, 2025. The week-long agriculture themed festivities started with a resounding featured address from the Deputy Prime Minister of the country. The leadership of the country has been looking forward to the beginning of the Caribbean week of agriculture. 

The Caribbean Week of Agriculture will bring together regional leaders from across the region. The anticipation for the event has been at an all time high with the agriculture stakeholders of the Caribbean coming together for a full week of events and festivities. 

The launch for the CWA was hosted in St Kitts Marriott Resort and is being celebrated under the theme of Sowing Change, Harvesting Resilience: Transforming Our Caribbean Food Systems for 2025 and Beyond

The theme of the Caribbean week of Agriculture accurately highlights the purpose of this event. Through the Caribbean Week of Agriculture, the stakeholders associated with the event want to strengthen the sector. 

The week-long festivities will be dedicated towards improving the agriculture stakeholders’ capacity. The whole week will be filled with fruitful discussions which will help in strengthening the food systems of the country. Another aim of the Caribbean Week of Agriculture will be to bring the people from across the Caribbean together to discuss the strengthening of the food security in the region.

The Minister of Agriculture was present at the opening ceremony for the Caribbean Week of Agriculture. He delivered an address at the opening ceremony and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the growth of the agricultural sector. 

The officials have shared that it is the duty of the people to make sure that the members of the community feel represented and supported. The agriculture sector of St kitts and Nevis is full of potential and can turn into a major asset for the country if it is utilized well

With initiatives like the Caribbean Week of Agriculture, the sector is expected to grow leaps and bounds.
