The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Marine Resources of St. Kitts facilitated the winners of the 31st Agriculture Open Day & Marine Expo 2026 Raffle. The facilitation ceremony was held on Wednesday 20, May 2026 at Ministry headquarters in Church Street, Basseterre.
According to the announcement from the Ministry of Agriculture, the first prize was won by Shermel Johnson from Nevis who received 1 acre of fencing wire & poles. Kenesha Mills, Newton Ground secured 2nd place and received a Beehive Set. 3rd position was secured by Stacey Gumbs from Sandy Point, and received a 65 inch Samsung TV.
The Ministry of Agriculture also gave the consolation prize to Sharez Cornelius from Newtown. He also received the ticket of St. Kitts Music Festival. The Grand Expo Raffle was one of the events in the Agriculture Open Day & Marine Expo 2026. The Expo 2026 was held on Thursday 30 to Friday May 1, 2026 and it was a two day event.
The event was attended by Prime Minister Dr. Terrence Drew and he was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Geoffrey Hanley, Samal Duggins, Minister of Agriculture, fisheries & Marine Resources and Stewart Versailles Director of the department of agriculture.
Moreover, from the embassy of the Republic Of China (Taiwan) to St Kitts and Nevis, Ambassador Edward Ling-Wen Tao also attended the event. The delegation from the Taiwan Technical Mission which is stationed in St. Kitts and Nevis also accompanied him to the event.
Ambassador Tao also mentioned efforts of the Taiwan Technical participation in the 31st Agriculture Open Day & Marine Expo 2026 reflects the bilateral cooperation between the two nations. Also the Expo 2026 promoted by the Taiwan ICDF in St. Kitts.
Additionally, The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries & Marine Resources of St. Kitts expressed their gratitude to their sponsors and partners through their social media handle and also appreciated the efforts of vendors, exhibitors, performers, competitors and patrons for participating and making the Expo 2026 a success.
For the next year the 32 Agriculture Open Day & Marine Expo 2027 will be held on April 29 to 30, 2027 at Royal Basseterre Valley National Park.
