The lead singer of the Kollision Band, Jermaine “Chubby” Clarke was shot dead in the early hours of Sunday. The incident has left the nation in shock as he was a beloved member of the creative fraternity.
The incident happened after Clarke concluded a performance in Keys. He was attacked in his vehicle. He was shot multiple times resulting in his death on the spot.
The confirmation of his news came from the Minister of Creative Economy, Samal Duggins who issued a statement on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Im his statement, Minister Duggins said that Clarke was not just an artist but much more, his spirit, presence, and voice brought joy, energy, and connection to so many people of the island nation. He has made significant contributions to the creative sector of the country with his music.
The artist took the creative sector of the country to various parts of the region and even parts of the world. The officials have shared that the young entertainer has played a very important role in shaping and promoting the unique sound of the Federation.
The day was dark for the creative sector of the country, with condolences pouring from all corners of the island. His fans, family members and friends are all in a state of shock and mourning the untimely death of the musician.

The death is being investigated by the Royal St Christopher and Nevis Police force. As for now, the Police has shared that the victim was accompanied by a female at the time of his shooting. The female occupant of Clarke’s vehicle did not sustain any gunshot injuries. She was however injured during the incident and she is being treated at the JNF General Hospital.
The Police has also asked the people of the community to come forward with information and support investigation.
