Adeola Moore, CEO of the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) represented St. Kitts and Nevis in the 14th Regular Meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP). The meeting is running for three days starting from 8 to 10 June, 2026 taking place at Bridgetown, Barbados.
On the first day of the Meeting, Moore took part as a panelist during Panel 3. Panel 3 was about Port Resilience: New Technologies for Disaster Risk Management. In the panel, Moore was accompanying several international and regional maritime leaders.
The attendants of the meeting discussed effective approaches that they can use to strengthen the precautionary measures taken before situations and events of disaster. The approaches which were discussed include emergency response, operational resilience, and recovery planning through advanced effective emerging technologies.
The theme of the 14th Regular Meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) is “The Scope of Artificial Intelligence: Reshaping Strategies for Sustainable and Secure Ports”. The meeting is being attended by officials and stakeholders from all over the Americas. Attendants include government officials, international organizations, maritime professionals and private sector stakeholders.
Additionally, during the multi day meeting officials will discuss effective approaches on various topics including Port operations, security, sustainability, innovation and regional cooperation to enhance the port’s operations.
According to sources, Adeola Moore representing St Kitts and Nevis in 14th Regular Meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) recalled the St. Christopher Air & Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) vision of advancing the maritime sector in the Twin Islands. Through working on fostering strategic partnership, and participation in regional discussion which focus on the strengthening efficiency, resilience and long-term sustainability of the maritime sector.
Moreover, the three day meeting also showcases a series of technical sessions along with panel discussion and strategic dialogues on adapting the modern and futuristic measures for the development of the ports.
Additionally, Ian Gooding-Edghill, Minister of Tourism and International Transport of Barbados addressed the delegates at the opening of the 14th Regular Meeting of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) which held at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre,
