Desrie Markham, Miss Caribbean Universe 2025 will be attending the 43rd edition of the Haynes Smith Miss Caribbean Teen Pageant. She has been invited to the event as a Distinguished Guest Artist to grace the participants and the audience with her presence.
Markham, who hails from Antigua has been a very popular Pageanter and has also served as an attorney at law in Antigua.
Presently, Desrie Markham is working as the Crown Counsel II at the Attorney General’s Chambers in Antigua and Barbuda. She has professional experience in a variety of fields including Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Family Law, and International Climate Change Policy and Law.
The presence of such a seasoned pageant queen who has dedicated her life to supporting the children through their struggles in mental health, delinquency and more will add to the charm of the pageant. According to some sources, the special guest of the pageant has put in eight years of her life into the National Youth Theatre. She spends much of her time mentoring the young performers. She has been working with youngsters to help improve public speaking, stage presence, confidence, and discipline.
The theatre is a special part of her life and has helped her empower hundreds of students.
She has also been using her work and experience in the field of Pageantry for the benefit of the people. Her platform, “Drama: A Safe Space for the Depressed, Deprived, and Delinquent,” has been using theatre as therapy.
She has also been working with the Youth Arise Antigua, where she engages in supporting school improvement projects, donating supplies, and educating young women on hygiene and self-care.
Desrie Markham is firm in her belief that “success is not final, failure is not fatal; it is the courage to continue that counts,”
