The Bahamas will soon have an exclusive resort made by Disney and the tourists are already looking forward to it. The resort will be built by the Disney cruise lines.
As a matter of fact, Disney owns a private island in The Bahamas named Castaway Cay, and it is reserved for the Disney Cruise Line guests on Bahamian and Caribbean cruises.
Disney is spending almost $250 million to $400 million to build a new resort on the island of Eleuthera at Lighthouse Point which is to the south of Castaway cay.
Once Lighthouse Point resort will be opened, the Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to enjoy the island’s mesmerising beaches and surrounding surreal nature.
The resort is expected to have numerous umbrellas and chairs along the shore. Also,bungalow-style buildings connected by elevated walkways between palm trees and greenery, which are supposed to help reduce the environmental impact.
Joe Rohde has been chosen to help bring Disney’s vision to life on the island. He has designed a Disney Resort Spa in Hawaii and Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park in the past in both Orlando and Aulani.
Rhodes is considered to be more than qualified to design this project. He plans on fusing the existing Bahamian culture into the resort.
He says that the Lighthouse Point site is so beautiful and so full of nature that Disney wants to preserve it and use their designs to attract attention to the extraordinary quality of the place.
Rhodes said that the place has natural beauty and also a rich and fascinating cultural tradition.
Construction is expected to begin during this year, and the resort should be open by 2022 or 2023.
The resort is expected to attract tourists in large numbers from across the globe, and also, the serenity of the place is likely to play a vital role in the beauty of the resort.
