Tuesday, August 2, 2022, marked the end of the St Kitts and Nevis Culturama 48 Festival. The festival started on July 22, 2022. After running for more than ten days and hosting various cultural and regional events and pageants, it was concluded following St Kitts and Nevis’ emancipation weekend.
The premier of St Kitts and Nevis, Mark Brantley, commemorated this occasion with a post on his Official Facebook Account. He shared a number of videos and photographs from the Culturama Festival with a caption.
He announced the end of Culturama with the words, “A wonderful end to an epic Culturama 48.“.
He congratulated the Minister of Culture, Eric Evelyn and his entire team for the successful execution of Culturama 48. Further, he also applauded the efforts of the “performers and revellers, congratulated the contestants and thanked the volunteers who give their time and creativity every year to keep the Culture of St Kitts and Nevis alive.
The caption of his post read, “A wonderful end to an epic Culturama 48. Huge congratulations to Hon Eric Evelyn and his entire team, to the performers and revellers, to the contestants and the volunteers who give of their time and creativity each year to keep our Culture alive.”
On August 1, 2022, a day before the closing ceremonies, the Premier of St Kitts and Nevis, along with his comrades of the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) and One movement partners Shawn K. Richards and his cohorts of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) marked their presence at the Culturama 48 in Charlestown, Nevis.
Prominent St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) leaders also marked their presence at the Culturama 48 and enjoyed the festivities.
