The eight-time Olympic gold-winning sprinter, Usain Bolt, tested positive for COVID-19 and is self-isolating at his home in Jamaica.
It is noteworthy that he has tested positive for COVID-19 after he celebrated his 34th birthday with a big bash mask-free last week.
The health ministry has confirmed on Monday that Bolt had tested positive after he posted a video around midday on social media saying he was waiting to hear back on his results.
Bolt confirmed in a Twitter video that he would go into self-isolation.
He said that he is trying to be responsible so he would self isolate and stay away from his friends. And also, he has no symptoms, so he is going to quarantine himself.
He said that he would wait and see what is the protocol and how should he go about quarantining himself, from the Ministry of Health.
So, he said that he has quarantined himself and is taking it easy.
Bolt holds the world record in 200m and 100m events. He is an 11-time world champion, and he won consecutive gold medals in 4x100m relay, 100m, 200m events from 2009 to 2015.
Bolt said that he took the test on Saturday, the day after he celebrated his birthday at a bash where partygoers danced to the hit “Lockdown” by Jamaican reggae singer Koffee.
