The Government of Barbados implemented a travel Bubble for specific countries with a low incidence of coronavirus, which will be effective from August 5, 2020. Thee countries are Grenada, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, Dominica and St. Kitts and Nevis.

Under the new travel protocols, persons who wish to travel within the Bubble and have not passed through or travelled to any of the high, medium or low-risk countries within 21 days before the travel to Barbados, would not be required to take a COVID-19 test before or on their arrival and do not require monitoring during their stay in Barbados.

Other travellers who would come from high and medium risk countries have also been strongly advised to take a COVID-19 test from a certified or accredited laboratory (ISO, CAP, UKAS or equivalent) within three days of their travel to Barbados.

Persons who are travelling from low-risk countries have been advised to take a COVID-19 test within five days of travel to Barbados.

Anyone who would arrive without a documented negative COVID-19 test result from a recognized or accredited laboratory would be asked to take the test on their arrival in Barbados.

Tests would be available at the Grantley Adams International Airport free of charge or would be available at specified hotel/satellite sites for a fee of just US $150.

A visitor who would not present a valid negative result and declines getting tested upon arrival would be denied entry into Barbados.

Citizens, persons with permanent status and Permanent Residents who would not present a valid negative COVID-19 test result and decline testing on arrival would be quarantined in a Government facility.

Persons travelling from high-risk countries and having a valid negative test would be quarantined at an approved villa or a designated holding hotel at their own expense, or a Government facility free of charge. They would be monitored daily for the symptoms.
