Jahzara Claxton from St. Kitts has been selected in the 15-member squad for the Senior Women’s One-Day International Tour of Ireland. The tournament ODI series got underway today at the Bready Cricket Club, Northern Ireland.

The announcement of players for the ODI tournament was shared by the Cricket West Indies Association on Thursday July 9, 2026. The association shared that for the bilateral series against Ireland, the St. Kitts and Nevis team is mostly the same who played in the tri-series against Ireland and Pakistan. There is only one slight change in the team where Realeanna Grimmond replaced the Chanel Henry as she is injured and not available for the series.

Additionally, the tour to Ireland is the West Indies Women Cricket team’s third assignment in the ICC Women’s Championship. The association shared that this is an important opportunity for the team to score points for securing their road for the World Cup qualification.

Shane Deitz, head coach of the West Indies Women Cricket team stated that Ireland is a tough competition as the tournament is taking place in Ireland. She also shared that the team is also focusing on adapting in the environment as soon as possible. She said, “Ireland would be a tough opponent in their conditions, and we need to adapt fast and make sure we play some good cricket”.

Notably, the 2nd ODI match is scheduled to take place on Sunday July 12 and the 3rd ODI match will be played on Wednesday July 15, 2026. Both remaining matches will be played at the same venue Bready Cricket Club in Bready.
