The Passport Holders of St. Kitts and Nevis who want to travel to Ghana must obtain an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorisation) before making travel plans. The travel authorization application does not come with a fee.
The announcement has been made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis. The officials within the Ministry have confirmed that the St. Kitts and Nevis passport holders would not have to pay for the eTA. The officials have also shared information regarding the smooth travel of the people.
The people of the island can apply for the eTA online at the website https://evisa.immigration.gov.gh
After entering the website the applicants can select the country, click check eligibility and follow the instructions being given on the website to apply for the Electronic authorisation.
The applicants have to make sure that they possess the following documentation at the time of applying for the eTA:
- Passport biodata page
- Passport-size photograph
- Immunisation card (yellow fever vaccination)
- Travel itinerary or ticket details
- Accommodation details, including the hotel or host’s name, address and contact information
Once the electronic travel authorisation has been approved, the people of the island can get a printout and keep it safe. The document is to be presented to the authorities when and where requested. The Visa Free travel agreement between St. Kitts and Nevis was signed earlier in the year 2027.
The collaboration highlights the two nation’s willingness to improve collaboration and opportunities for exchanges. Back in March 2026, Ghanaian President Mahama hailed the visa free travel agreement as a key step towards stronger bilateral relations.
Both the nations consider this development important for greater people-to-people connectivity. The eTA approval from Ghana is designed to make travel smoother for the travellers coming to the country.
The governments of both nations have been looking forward to fostering better collaboration and exchange of culture and ideas. The travel arrangements are expected to play a significant role in this mandate.
