Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, has announced that he will be onboard the inaugural cruise of the P&O Cruises departing from St Kitts in November 2027. He said that he will be accompanying his family on the cruise in honor of the milestone achievement of St Kitts and Nevis.

The cruise line is set to start homeporting operations from St Kitts and Nevis, starting November 2027. The tourism  authorities as well as the government of St Kitts and Nevis consider this to be a massive victory for the tourism sector of the country.

The Prime Minister took to his social media to highlight the new development and informed the people that they can now book their cruise from St Kitts and Nevis. He said that the homeporting operations are being taken to the next level.

The P&O Cruises Homeporting operations will take effect starting November 2027 with trips starting for Arvia and Iona which are two of the company’s flagship ships. While expressing his pride in the development, PM Drew said that this signifies growth in the tourism sector of the country.

He also noted that the homeporting operation signifies economic transformation for the country. The development will also bring hundreds of new jobs to the island nation and translate into significant opportunities for the people.

Traditionally, travellers can only spend a limited number of hours on the island visiting St Kitts. However, with St Kitts and Nevis homeporting, the people will also be able to start and end  their trips on the island.

With homeporting, St Kitts  and Nevis is likely to get a competitive position within the regional tourism sector.  People will travel to St Kitts to get onboard the  ships, bringing a significant number of travellers to the island to start their voyages.

The cruise itineraries of Arvia and Iona will connect St Kitts and Nevis with several other Caribbean destinations, including Dominica, Antigua and Barbuda, Grenada, Curacao, Tortola, Saint Martin, Saint Lucia and More.
