The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew has presented two cheques totalling EC $15,000 to the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support Group. The donation is part of the administration’s efforts to support the fight against breast cancer.
The donated sum comes from the proceeds of the Prime Minister’s New Year Gala 2026, which was hosted on January 4. The Prime Minister announced the donation during the Press conference which was hosted on February 17, 2026.
Later that same day, he met with the representatives from the Essence of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation and the Reach for Recovery Breast Cancer Support Group. Both the organizations have received cheques from the Prime Minister to support the cause.
The St Kitts and Nevis Information Service shared some images from the meeting on their social media.
Dr Drew, who has served as a medical practitioner previously, has been a dedicated advocate for the support and prevention of cancer. He has been working with stakeholders to make sure that the people of the island will be given the support that they need.
The Prime Minister has shared that the donation is part of the government’s ongoing commitment to health, compassion, and community support.
The donated funds will be given to the people who need support with mammography, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment. The donation will help in the providing support services to both the men and women who have been suffering from breast cancer.
The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis thanked the people who were part of these institutions. He said that they have been working with the people of the island and extended awareness on the topic of breast cancer.
The organization has also provided support to the officers who have been working with the patients. Dr Terrance Drew has shared that the partnerships of this type are instrumental to improving the strength of the healthcare sector of St Kitts and Nevis.
