St Kitts Cricketer Jahzara Claxton has been selected as a part of the West Indies Women’s team. She will be part of the Windies Squad for the upcoming three-match ODI Series against the Sri Lanka women’s national cricket team. 

The three match series will be hosted in St George, Grenada starting from February 20–25, The team will be travelling for the home game on February 19. The team is being led by Captain, Hayley Matthews. The rest of the squad consists of:

The inclusion of Jahzara Claxton has been lauded by the people of the island. The Minister of Sports, Creative Economy et al, has taken to this social media to extend their best wishes to Claxton. 

He said that he was delighted to see a daughter of the nation being part of the ODI series in the international arena. Duggins said that he honor has been given in acknowledgement of the discipline, resilience, and dedication to the game. 

The people of the island have also shared their own best wishes to the cricketer, who has been part of several women’s cricket team squads.The Minister has expressed that they are confident  that she will perform well during the three day ODI series. The officials have shared that this is a matter of pride and celebration for the nation.

The Minister of Sports, Samal Duggins expressed hope that she will continue to inspire the next generation of young cricketers across our nation. The experts said that the fact that Jahzara Claxton is part of the West Indies Women’s Cricket Team is a matter of pride

This is because the significance of women’s cricket is improving significantly. This is also a matter of regional acknowledgement especially for the people of the small island nation like St Kitts.
