The St Peter’s Main Road was successfully rehabilitated after long years of wait and neglect at the hands of the previous administration. The Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr Terrance Drew, who also serves as the Parliamentary representative for St Peter’s was present at the official launch of the St Peter’s Main Road.
The EC $31 Million Project, which was started in 2023 has finally been opened to the public. The authorities have shared that the road project is being considered a significant investment in the nation’s road infrastructure.
The project is also designed to improve connectivity, safety and community development. The road rehabilitation project includes road reconstruction, base stabilisation, asphalt resurfacing, and the installation of retaining walls, curbs, sidewalks.
The organization has shared that they wanted to make sure that the members of the community can navigate the roads safely and securely. A new roundabout was constructed as part of this project along with another slip lane at the Shadwell Roundabout.

The Minister of Public Utilities addressed the attendants of the opening ceremony for the road which had been long awaited. He recounted the whole journey that the various stakeholders of the projects took to make the road project a reality.
Minister Konris Maynard highlighted how the new road will connect the community to the rest of the island nation more firmly and effectively. Adding to this, Dr Terrance drew, who serves as the Parliamentary Representative for St Peter’s said that it was one of his priorities upon taking office to give this road to the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
Dr Terrance Drew said that he was disheartened to see the road resurfacing for St Peter’s being ignored when the whole Island Main road rehabilitation was done under the previous administration.
