St Kitts Credit Union brings financial literacy to teen moms

St Kitts Credit union has taken the mandate on training teenage mothers about financial literacy through various measures. The session on financial literacy was hosted in collaboration with the Department of Gender Affairs in St Kitts.

The organizers of the event have shared that they are dedicated towards making the people of the island financially literate. The collaboration will help them in making sure more and more teenage mothers understand the concept of financial literacy. 

The training sessions will help them make informed choices and make sure that their families can live without financial constraints. The Department of Gender Affairs was delighted to be a part of this initiative and extended their support to every aspects.

The participants said that the financial literacy session was lost timely for the people of the island nation. They were given tips on budgeting and help them create a sustainable habit to save their money in case of emergencies.

The initiative led by St Kitts Credit Union has helped several people and is expected to extend to and partner with other members and stakeholders. The officials have shared that they are happy to support vulnerable sections of the society through areas such as this.

The administration of St Kitts and Nevis has been dedicated to promoting financial literacy among people of various age groups and economic status. The initiative is designed to provide the people of the island with foundational tools which can help in making them more knowledgeable. 

The St Kitts Credit Union has shared that they will continue to organise these events in order to support the financial education of the people. A similar initiative, called ASPIRE Programme has been conceptualized for the younger generation.

This initiative seeks to introduce children, as young as five and as old as 18 to financial literacy, encourage them to learn about savings and investment. The programme is supported by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew and is being implemented across the federation.

The financial literacy session organized by the St Kitts Credit Union and Department of Gender Affairs was aimed at teenage mothers, however, it is a learning opportunity for several people.
