Nevis Island Administration, under the leadership of Spencer Brand, has taken up road rehabilitation projects in two major areas of the island. The Pinneys and Brown Pastures Area are picked for the rehabilitation projects by the Nevis Public Works Department.

The official confirmation on this project has come from the Public Works Department of Nevis. The aim of this project is to enhance safety un the communities and improve access.

The new road projects will help in making sure that the long-term durability of Nevis’ transportation network can also be maintained. Spencer Brand, who serves as the Minister of Works, visited both the construction projects during his visit.

He highlighted that he was accompanied by Denzil Stanley, from the Ministry staff for the inspection procedure.

The Minister said that in the Pinneys Community, they are working on the road project near the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park and TDC Building and Hardware Department. The roads in the community have been declining in quality for several months.

The Minister of Public Works claimed that the department has started the rehabilitation work in many of the projects while some other projects are still waiting to go on the floors. In the initial work, they have cleaned the roads and some some resurfacing of the roads which is common practice.

However, the department has confirmed that they are not stopping at resurfacing and will be doing rehabilitation to improve the safety of the drivers.

The safety of the people is of utmost priority for the adminstration and the situation of the roads in the region can leave much to desire. The department has been steadily working on various road projects to make sure that the whole island can benefit from the initiative.

The road rehabilitation is one of the many projects that the NIA works department has taken up for the benefit of the people. Safer roads with low numbers of road accidents is important for the overall well-being of the island comm

unities.
