St Kitts and Nevis is playing host for the Twenty-eighth Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR). The opening ceremony for the meeting will be hosted in Basseterre. The event will be attended by several members of the Caribbean Community.
The opening ceremony of the 28th Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) will start at 9:00 AM and will be livestreamed for the people of the country.
The Foreign Affairs Ministers of Philippines and Jamaica have already expressed their excitement in attending the event. Most recently, the Commonwealth of Dominica held the chairmanship of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR).
The 27 Meeting of the COFCOR was hosted in Roseau, and led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dominica, Dr Vince Henderson.
The attendance of the Ministers and representatives from all over the Caribbean at the 28th Meeting of COFCOR will provide a platform for important in-depth discussions. The representatives from various nations can discuss ways to improve regional cooperation and unity.
The meeting will shed light on the various issues that the Caribbean Community is facing, the officials have shared that the members of the community will be given the opportunity to forge better cooperation and relationships.
The representatives from different nations can meet and discuss issues of mutual importance and garner support from all over the Caribbean. The 28th Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations will also be the platform where the chairmanship of the COFCOR will transfer from the Commonwealth of Dominica to St Kitts and Nevis.
The opening ceremonies will be streamed live for the people to be able to virtually attend from the comfort of their respective homes. The official social media pages of the St Kitts and Nevis Information Service and CARICOM will be streaming the opening ceremony live.
The leaders of the member states of the CARICOM have already arrived at the shores of the twin island nation in preparation for the meeting.
