The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Industry, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Economic Development and Investment – Dr Denzil Llwewllyn Douglas will assume the Chairmanship of the twenty-eighth Regular Meeting of the Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR).
The event will be held in Nevis and Antigua Ballrooms, St Kitts Marriott Resort in St Kitts and Nevis on May 8 and May 9, 2025. The opening ceremony of COFCOR will take place on May 8 at 9:00 am. It will also be streamed live via CARICOM’s social media platforms: YouTube, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and Instagram.
Notably, the CARICOM Foreign Affairs Ministers will discuss top priority issues of regional and international interests. These will include the situation in Haiti, relation with Third States, Candidatures and the developments in the hemispheric and multilateral Bodies.
Furthermore, the Council will also engage with Representatives of the Government of Mexico, the Philippines, Germany and Portugal.
About COFCOR
The Council for Foreign and Community Relations (COFCOR) is a part of the community which determines relations between the Caribbean regions and International Organizations. It also promotes the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations among Member States of CARICOM.
The twenty-seventh meeting of COFCOR was held in Roseau, Dominica from May 23 to May 24. Dr Vince Henderson, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, and Energy of the Commonwealth of Dominica assumed the Chairmanship at COFCOR 2024.
