Social Media Platform X goes offline during global outage

X, formerly known as Twitter, went down on Monday, March 10th, 2025, during a global outage which stopped millions of users from accessing the platform. The company that owns X has net given any official statement explaining the reason behind the outage.

According to an outage tracking platform DownDetector, X was non-operational for around three hours. The users took to other social media apps like Facebook and Instagram to register their complaints.

One of the users commented, “Is Twitter down? Anyone having the same issue?” while another user asked, “Why is Twitter still not working?”

It is to be noted that the platform started to work for some users after facing the outage for approximately 30 – 40 minutes during the day.

The users could not post anything, including tweets or open any page on the platform during the mega outage.

Twitter has been officially known as X after it was acquired by Elon Musk in 2022 for $44 billion. It is one of the world’s largest social media platforms where users can share messages, images, and videos in short posts known as ‘Tweets’.

X offers premium services (Premium +) with a paid subscription of $22 per month from $16 and $229 per year from $168. These prices show a 35% increase for both new and existing users across the globe.
