Epworth Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School (E.M.M.J.S) emerged as the new champions of The Body Shop Private Schools Championships. The team won a total of 31 medals – 14 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze.
The Private Schools Championships was organized by the Department of Sports of St Kitts in partnership with The Body Shop, a gym / physical fitness centre. The competition was hosted on Friday, February 21st, 2025, at St Mary’s Playing Field in Cayon.
The game was set to begin at 1:00 pm and all were invited to support the teams with an admission fee of $10.00 XCD for adults, $5.00 XCD for children, and $20.00 XCD for inside parking.
Winners of Private Schools Championships
The Private Schools Championship has been won by Epworth Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School with 14 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 8 bronze medals.
George Moody Stuart Primary School (G.M.S.P.S) was the first runner-up with 12 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 13 bronze medals, while Immaculate Conception Catholic School (I.C.C.S), won 4 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 9 bronze medals.
Fourth place was occupied by SKI Academy with 3 gold medals, 3 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. Ross Preparatory took the last place with 1 gold medal, 0 silver medals, and 0 bronze medals.
Minister Denzil Douglas congratulates the winner
Foreign Minister Dr Denzil Douglas congratulated Epworth Maurice Hillier Memorial Junior School (E.M.M.J.S) on winning the Private Schools Championships.
He also congratulated all the other participating schools for their outstanding performances and appreciated the coaches, teacher, parents and fellow students for supporting all the teams and for boosting their morale.
