St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee will host an award ceremony at the St Kitts Marriott Resort in Frigate Bay, on January 31, 2025, to present winners, placers, and finalists of the various competitions that were held during Sugar Mas 53, with a cash prize of over $650,000.
The ceremony will honor participants who showcased their unique talents during the carnival season, across various categories, including folklore competitions, pageants, calypso, soca, pan, and street activities.
This event will celebrate participants for their hard work and dedication that made Sugar Mas 53 a grand success and will be awarded various prizes for their performances and to encourage them for their future endeavours and will feature winners, competitors, sponsors, and other invited guests.
The prize ceremony will be live streamed on the official Facebook page and YouTube channel of St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee.
Minister Samal Duggins invites everyone enjoy Sugar Mas 53
Minister of Sports and Creative Economy Samal Duggins invited everyone to join the ceremony to honor the individuals and teams for the spectacular performances during Sugar Mas 53.
He stated, “We are thrilled to reward the incredible talent displayed during Sugar Mas 53. The prize money reflects the Government’s commitment to promoting and celebrating our rich cultural heritage.”
About Sugar Mas
Sugar Mas is the annual national carnival of St Kitts and Nevis, celebrated from mid-November till January and is the longest holiday period for the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
The carnival includes six weeks of partying, dancing, and singing, with several competitions like pageants and street activities being a part of it.
Grand Parade and Last Lap are held on January 1st, and 2nd, and are the most anticipating events of Sugar Mas.
