The commencement of the construction phase at the Vance W Amory International Airport for the runway extension is expected to help create a wide range of job opportunities for local residents and workers. He noted that over hundred people could get employed during the commencement of this particular phase of the runway expansion project and that this type of project will increase employment and revenue for both the families and households.

Vance W Amory International Airport Expansion Project
The airport expansion project will include extension and resurfacing of the runway to 5,500 feet to both east and west side, installation of a new and improved lighting system, construction of a fuel farm and hangar, new fire hall, and several important upgrades to the terminal building.
