Basseterre, St Kitts: St Kitts and Nevis is taking significant steps to empower the creative sector and solidify its reputation as the Caribbean’s premier arts hub with the launch of its first-ever Creative Power Arts Convention at the St Kitts Marriott Resort.

Notably, the inaugural Creative Power Arts Convention is scheduled to take place from August 31st to September 07th, 2024.

The event is set to bring together top talents and industry leaders from across the region, that will showcase St Kitts and Nevis’ commitment to strengthening the creative and cultural exchange.

The Director of the Department of Creative Economy, Roberitine Webbe featured on InFocus on August 14, 2024 and stated that the response to the announcement of the premier Creative Power Arts Convention has been overwhelming and has fuelled this ambitious goal.

Director Roberitine Webbe delightfully noted that participants from across the Caribbean, including countries like Saint Lucia, Saint Eustatius, St Marteen, Trinidad, and Jamaica, will be traveling to St Kitts to participate in the event.

Marketing and Communications Officer, Casim Pemberton, highlighted that the Creative Power Arts Convention is expected to have a positive impact not only on the creative sector but also on the overall local economy.

Officer Pemberton added that he can see where creatives will be able to utilise these facilitators to advance their businesses and skill sets.

“Some of these facilitators are scouting talent, and we are working to ensure that our creatives are positioned to be the ones who get noticed,” Casim Pemberton noted.

He additionally expressed confidence that the convention’s impact will be significant, provided they can turn the insights gained into tangible success.

It is also to be noted that the Arts Convention will feature twenty-eight facilitators that will be providing the participants with strategic training that will be covering a diverse range of fields, including dance, touring, modelling, fashion design, and much more.
