St. Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew posted about enlightening the citizens with socioeconomic policies that will benefit the people.

PM Terrance Drew recently posted a series of construction projects that are currently under progressive construction. He took his official social media handle to mention that he will now post about the series of socioeconomic policies that are benefiting the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

The Prime Minister began the series of his posts with outlining the higher education policy. He said that it is the goal of the government to increase significantly the access to post-secondary education.

He noted that his administration has added the Southern University option where they have already started sending students for their further education. He also said that along with this, they have opened up the technical vocational training to Germany where the students are preparing to move.

In addition to these, the government of St. Kitts and Nevis has also lowered the rate of interest at the Development Bank. It is a significant reduce from 9% to 5% and it is one of the lowest in the region.

He also highlighted that this interest rate is the lowest in their history, while freezing interest payments for 4 and 1/3 years. Considerably, this is also saving each student upwards of $25,000.

PM Terrance Drew also marked that his government has restarted the programme by injecting a significant amount of $10,000,000 into the Development Bank. He also pointed out that he made this investment as the Bank was left in financial ruin by the previous administration.

PM Drew also shared glimpses of himself interacting with the school kids and mentioned that “We must continue to build our human resource capacity through academic and technical or vocational routes.”
