Basseterre, St. Kitts and Nevis: Ivy Battice of Newtown celebrates glorious 95 years of her enduring charm and resilience. With her spirit and unwavering strength, she has spent 95 years of her life as a true centurion, which embodies her richly lived life and is cherished by all her community members.
The leaders of the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party also took to their social media accounts and congratulated her on turning 95 and extended best wishes and abundance of love to the lady.
Deputy Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Geoffrey Hanley visited the premises of Ivy Battice and shared glimpses of his day spent with Ivy Battice.
While extending birthday wishes, he said that he is privileged to celebrate the birthday of the lady who is the true champion of the Newton community. Ivy Battice has the honour of an entire street named after her which shed light on the significant contributions that she has made, fostering development and fulfilling the needs of community members.
“I am so honoured to join the throngs of community and national voices in celebration of the birthday of a Labour Stalwart and now 95-year-old champion of our Newtown community, Ms Ivy Battice”, noted Dr Geoffrey Hanley.
Dr. Hanley also extended gratitude to Ivy Battice for her selfless contribution towards shaping Newton’s community and for creating a positive impact by promoting unity and harmony among her community members.
The Deputy PM reminisced his childhood days when he used to roam through her house and yard. It reflects that Ivy Battice has always been welcoming, and treats every community member as her own extended family.
The Minister wished her blessings on this auspicious day and stated “May God bless you on this special day and favour you as you walk along life’s journey supported by those who love and care for you!”
Moreover, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Denzil Douglas also extended birthday wishes to Ivy Battice for turning 95.
He also shared a picture of him with the lady from her 92nd birthday and said “Mother Ivy is now celebrating her 95th birthday, Happy Birthday Blessings to Comrade, Mother Ivy Battice of Ponds Pasture, New Town.”
