Basseterre, St Kitts and Nevis: Minister of Sports of St Kitts and Nevis, Samal Duggins extended best wishes to all the teams participating in the National Bank Group of Companies SKNFA Premier League. The league has already commenced and has offered the audience with the matches filled with entertainment, thrill and excitement.
The ten teams in total are competing against each other to claim the title and trophy for the 2024 National Bank Group of Companies Premier League.
The teams participating in the tournament include MCFR Old Road United Jets, Rams Village Superstars, SL Horsfords St paul’s United, HONDA Newtown United, DBSKN St Peters, Flow 4G Cayon Rockets, SKELEC Garden Hotspurs, SOL IAS Conaree, Hotspring Bath United and Trafalgar Southstars.
Minister Samal Duggins took to his social media accounts and congratulated Rams Village Superstars for securing the Presidents Cup and also unveiled the details about the local football premier league of St Kitts and Nevis.
“The National Bank Group of Companies SKNFA Premier League promises to be an exciting one with 10 teams ready to battle it out on the field! As the Minister of Sports, I’m repping all teams, but my heart says, “Go fi dem OR!” Wishing a safe and successful journey ahead for all players and fans,” mentioned Samal Duggins.
Moreover, the first game of the league was played between Flow 4G Cayon Rockets and Development Bank St Peters Football Club on 2nd March at Warner Park. Despite the efforts from the players of both teams, the match was a draw and both teams split the points, resulting in the final score of 1-1.
The second game of the day was between Sol Island Auto Conaree and Hondo Newton United Football Club. The game was won by Honda Newton with a score of 1-0 and the team earned the first three points of the season.
On Sunday, 3rd March, MFCR United Old Road Jets faced Trafalgar Southstars at Warner Park. Both the teams performed very well and displayed their best game. However, MFCR Old Road United Jets won the game by a score of 7-4.
In addition, two matches were held on Monday, the first game was played between Rams Village Superstars and Hot Springs Bath United at Warner Park. Ram Village Superstars clinched the victory and defeated Hot Springs Bath United by a score of 2-0.
Following that, SKELEC Garden Hotspurs competed against SLH St Paul’s United on the same day at Warner Park. SLH St Paul’s United won the game, defeating SKELEC Garden by a score of 2-1.
