The prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, was recently featured in a roundtable conference. The Prime Minister spoke of the various new initiatives that the government plans to roll out for the benefit of the people. The roundtable media interaction took place on Friday, July 21, 2023.
During the press interaction, he announced several capital projects that the government seeks to implement in the future.
The prime minister, Dr Terrance Drew announced that these projects will serve as an opportunity to boost the country’s economy. Accordingly, he announced that they had released the tender for resurfacing the road on St Peter’s. The other capital projects will also be announced for the tendership.
These projects include:
The construction of the new smart hospital,
road repairs within various communities,
the start of the housing project,
upgrade work at the Conaree Playing Field
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew detailed all the future projects of the country. The construction of the new hospital is among the foremost mandates of the St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party Administration. As the minister of health and formerly practising doctor in the country, Dr Drew understands the criticality of providing quality healthcare to the people.
Dr Drew shared that he understands the need to increase project speed. He stated that the project delay happened because those projects would go through the procurement board before the work started on these projects.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew announced that the government will roll out several projects in the upcoming weeks. He stated that the projects will help boost the country’s economy. The projects will also introduce several critical, infrastructures that would benefit the nation immensely.
Notably, Prime Minister Drew highlighted that they will also have infrastructural development in the country with the bouncing back of the orange economy, agriculture, and so forth moving together at some point, building the foundation to take us forward
