Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, congratulated his counterpart in St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, on the 39th Anniversary of the federation’s Independence from the British Empire.
St Kitts and Nevis officially celebrated their 39th anniversary of Independence on Monday, September 19, 2022. In the congratulatory message addressed to the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said,
“Please accept warm felicitations and greetings on behalf of the people, the Government of India and on my own behalf, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis.
He further added, “India attaches high importance to our close and cordial relations with St Kitts and Nevis which are based on the solid foundation of shared culture and history. I look forward to working together for further strengthening of our bilateral relations for the mutual benefit of our two countries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “I take this opportunity to also convey my best wishes to Your Excellency for your personal good health and well-being. I also wish for the continued prosperity and progress of the friendly people of St Kitts and Nevis.
Prime Minister Modi concluded with the words, “Please accept, Excellency, the assurances of my highest consideration.”
St Kitts and Nevis is hosting events and celebrating the 39th anniversary of St Kitts and Nevis. These events include Prime Minister’s Lecture Series, which is hosted on September 14, and Independence Wellness Walk, which is hosted on September 10.
The Prime Minister, accompanied by his Cabinet, was also involved in visiting the primary and secondary schools of the region. They got the chance to interact with the students and the staff of the primary and secondary schools.
On September 19, 2022, the country hosted a ceremonial parade, and the Prime Minister of the federation delivered a heartfelt address.
Recently, the country has also hosted the Special Thanksgiving Service on the Occasion of the Celebration of our 39 years of Independence, which Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew attended on behalf of his government and people.
