St Kitts and Nevis: The Ministry of Social Development and Gender Affairs shares the Child Abuse Prevention Week of Activities organised by the Probation & Child Protection Services to celebrate Universal Children’s Day 2024.
The Child Abuse Prevention Week is being celebrated in observance of the Universal Children’s Day under the theme, “Creating a World that Fulfils the Rights of Children Everywhere.” The week of activities have already commenced on Sunday, November 17, 2024 and will conclude on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
The Ministry of Social Development shared the calendar of activities through their official social media noting that the celebrations began yesterday.
The children’s day celebration started with Special Prayer for Children on Sunday followed by Youth National Prayer Day on Monday.
Significantly, today, November 19, 2024, the event will feature Staff School Visits where the authorities will make visits to the school and spend time with the children. The nation will wear blue on Wednesday as the ritual followed on Universal Children’s Day.
The celebration will continue post the children’s day featuring more School Visits and will conclude with Blue Bear Wall Repair Activity on Saturday.
The detailed list of activities scheduled for the rest of the week is as follows:
- 19 November, 2024 | Staff School Visits
- 20 November, 2024 | Wear Blue Day
- 21 November, 2024 | Staff School Visits
- 23 November, 2024 | Blue Bear Wall Repair
Notably, World Children’s Day is celebrated every year on November 20 to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving the welfare for the children.
This year the theme for the children’s day is “For Every Child, Every Right,” ensuring that every child receive their fundamental rights worldwide.
