St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC) have declared the results for the competitions in the Grand Carnival Parade and the Last Lap of the Sugar Mas 51. The Competitions were filled with music and entertainment for the attendants.
St Kitts and Nevis have recently concluded the Sugar Mas 51 on January 3, 2023. The final event of the National Carnival hosted on January 2 and 3, 2023, was hosted across the Nation. The grand Carnival Parade and the Last Lap Parade included several events attended by the people of St Kitts and Nevis. The events and competitions were:
Mas bands, King of the Bands, Queen of the Bands, and such. The organizers of the events in the following categories for the Grand Carnival Parade gave out awards:
Troupe of the Year, King of Band, Queen of Band, Spirit of Carnival, Section of the Year, First Troupe to Launch. Meanwhile, the SKNNCC also declared the results for the J’ouvert and Road March competitions.
The result of the Grand Carnival Parade:
In the Troupe of the Year Catagory: Ultra Carnival “Festivals of the World”
1st Runner Up: Luxe Carnival “Untamed.”
2nd Runner Up: NautiMas “The Gate Keepers.”
Winner in the King of Band Catagory: Glenroy Marshall, Luxe Carnival
The Catagory of the Queen of Band was won by: Kyla Morton, Luxe Carnival
The award of Spirit of Carnival was won by Ultra Carnival
Section of the Year was awarded to Sugar Mas, Ultra Carnival
First Troupe to Launch: Fhunn Vybz
The results for the J’ouvert and Road March:
Road March Title was won by the song “Outside Again”, which was played by the Grandmasters Band
1st Runner-Up Song: “Kick Dem Off De Wall”, played by Smallaxe Band
2nd Runner-Up Song: “Cowbell” the song was played by Upset Squad
J’ouvert Troupe Large Bands catagory award was won by Chattabox, Sweet Cane
1st Runner Up was Red Devils, Baywatch
2nd Runner Up was GM Addix, Bubble It
J’ouvert Small Band Winner: Jab Jab
Individual Mas Winner: Romaine Belgrove, “U Memba Dis”
