Russia has announced a suspension of S-400 surface-to-air missile systems which were to be delivered to China and said that the resumption of further deliveries would be ascertained later.

It has been reported that Russia has announced the postponement of the delivery of S-400 missile systems to China. It can be said it is for China’s sake.

As it is said that signing an invoice after receiving a weapon is actually easier than getting a gun.

Sohu said that they have said that the work on delivering the missile systems is very complicated. While China will have to send personnel for training, Russia would also need to send a lot of technical personnel for putting the weapons into service.

After Russia’s announcement, China has said reportedly that Moscow was forced to take such a step as it was worried that the delivery of S-400 missiles at this time would affect the anti-pandemic actions of China’s People’s Liberation Army and that Russia does not want to cause any troubles to China.

China received its first batch of S-400 missile in 2018.

The air defence missile system S-400 is considered to be the most advanced of its kind in Russia; it is capable of destroying targets at a distance of about 400 kilometres and a height of almost 30 kilometres.

Suspension of delivery of S-400 missiles to China by Russia has come after Moscow had earlier accused China of spying, despite both the countries have enjoyed considerably good relations with each other over the years.

The President of Russia’s St Petersburg Arctic Social Sciences Academy, Valery Mitko, was found guilty by Russia of handing over ‘classified materials to the Chinese intelligence.
