The prime minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, announced that they are entering a collaboration with the Global Support and Development – MV Dawn Humanitarian Vessel. The partnership with the federation started amid the 2023 hurricane season. The season starts from June 1 and lasts for six months, ending on November 30, 2023.
The season is marked by several tropical storms, which may or may not turn into hurricanes. For the small island nations of the Caribbean region, the hurricane season is marked with several potential disasters. To avoid any mishappenings in the country, St Kitts and Nevis has entered a collaboration with humanitarian vessels.
The vessel will assist in the disaster mitigation initiatives of the country. They seek to help the people of the country in times of disaster. The Minister of Social Security in the government of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Dew, applauded the government’s initiative of St Kitts and Nevis to enter a collaboration with the Global Support and Development – MV Dawn Humanitarian Vessel.
Taking to his social media account, he announced that the Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis welcomes the partnership between the Federation and Global Support and Development – MV Dawn Humanitarian Vessel.
Dr Terrance Drew further added that St Kitts and Nevis stand to benefit greatly in the area of disaster mitigation and relief management. The team of the humanitarian vessel will visit the country for the next two weeks for the mission. Accordingly, Dr Terrance Drew took the initiative to announce on his social media account that the next two weeks of the visit will be fruitful and holistically beneficial to all of us.
According to Dr Terrance Drew The MV Dawn Humanitarian Vessel is a self-sustained humanitarian relief vessel designed to travel within hours to assist in the event of any natural disaster within the Caribbean region.
