Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew visited JNF hospital with his wife along with Konris GM Maynard who is the minister of public infrastructure, energy, utilities, domestic transport and ICT. They all lent a hand in the JNF hospital lobby renovation.

It is the CABLES’S 40TH Anniversary project. This is a collective effort of the Government, The Cable, TDC, Dream Works Design, Crown Prints, Vaughn’s Construction & Design, Thomas Duke Architecture, Dianne Angela Designs, and Isaac Professional Services to enhance and beautify the Joseph N France (JNF) Hospital’s foyer.

To this initiative, the netizens stated that PM is carrying out good work. May god bless him and requested him to carry out the good work.

CEO Walters said the cable took the initiative for the renovation project as part of its community outreach for its 40th-anniversary celebrations.

The CEO added, ’’We wanted to make sure that whatever we did, benefitted the nation; not just our customers for our 40th anniversary, but the people of the federation.’’

Further to this, the CEO added, “ Many of us, at some point or another, had reasons to pass through the lobby on the way to visit someone or sit and await services, and what we want is to create a pleasant atmosphere so that whether you are waiting or passing through, your spirit would be uplifted in this very important institution in our nation.”

PM Drew extended his gratitude towards the Cable and other private sector entities and stated that public and private sector partnership is crucial for the overall economic development of St Kitts and Nevis .

“Health is a national issue. It is all of our business… and therefore because it is all of our business I think the approach should always be, how can we get the community involved in making sure that we have a hospital that would serve our needs and one that would be of high quality as well.” PM Drew added.

Reportedly, PM embarked on significant developments in the medical sector, like repairing the roofs, hiring the most qualified doctors and nurses with specializations, and providing scholarships to nurses so that they could opt for extended programs to improve in their specific fields.

Moreover, the PM said that they brought in the dialysis machines that Canada donated to them and now have an oversupply of the machines.

The government has also introduced new anesthesiology machines to be used in operation theatres.

Furthermore, the TDC company came forward to carry out the right amount of supply to the hospitals for renovating the lobby.
