The US Coast Guard is looking for a travelling helicopter with seven people on board that went missing off in the coast of Hawaii in rough climate conditions.
The chopper carrying seven people on board was on the tour of the northwestern island of Kauai. Immediately after the helicopter was reported missing, another helicopter and a boat was sent to scour the area. The missing alarm was raised by the owner of the chopper on Thursday evening, 40 minutes after it was due back.
US Coast guard said in a statement on Thursday that there is an electronic locator on the missing helicopter; however, no signals have been received so far.
As per sources, a pilot and six passengers are on the helicopter out which two are reportedly minors.
Petty Officer 1st Class Robert Cox stated, “the climate situations were rough, visibility was low, and there were blustery winds.”
“We have trained our crews answering and on the scene seeking for any marks of the helicopter and those aboard.”
