The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, ageing and disabilities in St Kitts and Nevis, has taken to its official social media to highlight the service of one of the members of the ministry staff, Andria Caines who helps in taking care of the people living with disabilities in St Kitts and Nevis. The ministry highlighted and applauded her contribution to the servie of the people of the nation.
Andria Caines serves as the Supervisor of the Home Care Officers within the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities. Caines has been a Home Care Officer for the past 22 years. After a stellar career of over two decades, she has now taken on a new role as Supervisor of Home Care Officers within the Ageing services of the Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Ageing and Disabilities.
According to Caines, it comes to caring for the elderly, one should be kind and compassionate. She elaborated upon her views with the words, “The care must come from the heart. The job must be done genuinely,” Her career and compassion to her job is testament to her success in the healthcare industry.
Homecare Officers take care of the sick and shut-in senior citizens who are unable to care for themselves. They also assist families with their senior family members who are also unable to care for themselves.
The Ministry of Youth Empowerment, ageing and disabilities noted that one of the highlights of the job for Andria Caines is the excitement of the elderly she is greeted with whenever she visits.
She is greeted with warmth and happiness by the senior citizens and vulnerable population, whenever she checks on them. Accordingly, the team at the ministry who have associated with the Home Care officers on a personal and professional level have extended their gratitude to her for her services over the years. The team has also extended best wishes to Andria Caines for her new position.
